We are the largest privately owned produce wholesaler on the West Coast, with distribution centers in Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Anchorage, Boise, and Los Angeles. CP Fresh is a subsidiary of Charlie’s Produce that opened in 2015 and is a food processing facility located in South Park. We expanded a new kitchen line of specialty items like ready to eat fruits and vegetables, sandwiches, and dips, and many more.

Variable days including weekend coverage for vacation (3am to 6am start time 8 hour shifts with overtime)

Pay

$25 - $30 hr DOE 

The Role

Manages all activities related to the distribution center's warehousing operations, including inventory management, ensuring that CP Fresh and Charlie’s Produce objectives for efficiency, economy, quality and productivity are met or exceeded. This position oversees approximately 5-10 warehouse associates.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plans, implements and monitors the day-to-day operations for the CP Fresh warehousing function, including analyzing operating data and reports, determining manpower needs and monitoring adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded.
• Manages assigned staff, including involvement in the recruitment and selection process of new employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met.
• Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment
• Interpret warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
• Assist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent forms
• Use various logistics and analytical PC-based software programs
• Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
• Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to shipping and receiving and implements necessary improvements to achieve expectations for availability, storage, sanitation and security of inventory.
• Ensures compliance with all customer, governmental and Company directives and policies and ensures the preparation and distribution of all relevant reports and quality analyses summaries.
• Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations
• Experience involving multi-temperature environments in receiving, inventory control and shipping supervisory preferred
• Food service experience a plus specifically in storage and shipment of food or allied products.
• Computerized inventory control systems - experince in using ERP a plus 
• Warehouse racking systems/processes
• Management/supervisory concepts and techniques
• Project management concepts and techniques
• Inventory experience 
• Ability to lift 50 lbs 
• Relevant safety policies, practices and procedures
• Regulatory policies and procedures, including OSHA, SQF, HACCP, and DOT
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks in various capacities
• Microsoft Office Proficient; especially in word processing and excel
• Ability to communicate clearly and to be tactful while dealing with personnel, supervisors, management, transportation department, purchasing department, and sales personnel.
• Proven work history and ability to manage in a dynamic and high paced environment
• Effective decision making as necessary in order to achieve the results needed
• Ability to work in 36 degrees - previous experience a plus
• Ability to stand for extensive periods of time 
• Must pass pre-employment UA
