Responsibilities

The Role

Responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and directing of the warehouse on a day to day work plan. Responsible for warehouse safety, order accuracy, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the General Manager and trains warehouse personnel to ensure a well-coordinated order picking as well as a shipping and receiving plan.

Essential Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Ensures proper training of staff by training new hires and re-training as needed.
• Responsible for warehouse overtime, communicating inventory status such as out-of-stock product to pickers, receiving and/or picking, and warehouse slotting of products.
• Responsible for conveying maintenance of warehouse equipment.
• Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of OSHA local and state regulations.
• Recommends equipment requirements and replacement to the Facility Manager in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Conducts minor disciplinary actions in regards to company policy, performance and attendance of subordinates.
• Responsible for quality and food safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Core Knowledge/Skills

• A vast knowledge of the fresh produce industry is needed to be successful in this role.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems.
• Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklift and pallet jack.
• Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal and oral presentation skills.
• Must have an excellent work record with references from other employers.
• Ability to plan, organize, implement, and follow through on projects.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and short deadlines.
• Critical thinking, ability to use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management internally and externally.
• Adaptability/Flexibility to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
• Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
• Ability to work flexible hours and day.

Required Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in warehouse shipping and handling.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing 10 or more employees.
• Experience WMS AS 400.
• Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, And PowerPoint.
• Inventory management experience.
