Responsibilities

Enterprise Architect – Supply Chain

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & PURPOSE:

The Enterprise Architect collaborates on development and execution of long-range technology architectural roadmaps across all Technology disciplines which anticipate future business needs and maximize long-term technology investment. This role delivers innovative architectural solutions for Charlie’s Produce, partnering with leaders across Technology and the Business to establish and maintain standards and solutions which align to Charlie’s Produce strategic goals and provide clear constraints for business partners. The Enterprise Architect manages medium to large solution development efforts, generating and guiding solution enabling architectures that support business and Technology strategy.

The Enterprise Architect role requires complex thinking and strategizing to ascertain which legacy systems can be updated, what software or hardware can be replaced, and which services or products will support business operations across each department. Enterprise Architects work across the organization, determining the needs of a range of business units and processes. It is a role that requires strong communication and analytical skills to ensure that business units have the right tools to be successful.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Charlie’s Produce Competencies, Compliance, Regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Responsible for overseeing, improving, and upgrading enterprise services, software, and hardware.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of an organization’s IT networks and services.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical blueprint of the team's services, creating solution options that align Technology services with business sponsor's missions, goals, and objectives with consideration of both technical and non-technical implications and trade-offs.
  • Develop and maintain the technology roadmap for assigned area, collaborating with business and Technology partners to ensure that the roadmap creates business value with technically sound solutions and seeking out opportunities to apply technical innovations to customer needs.
  • Maintain architecture standards, processes, and constraints across the organization.
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise to business partners across multiple disciplines and projects. Effectively articulate the value of architecture and technology.
  • Produce blueprints that guide the development and implementation of business solutions across a small set of projects, providing direction to technical teams during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and business roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with production support efforts to resolve near-term architectural issues and to remove architectural design debt.
  • Provide technology specific financial and technological analysis to Technology and Business leadership across teams to break down barriers and foster an understanding of enterprise services and architecture standards.
  • Review and recommend selection of third-party software platforms as needed.
  • Monitor the industry technology landscape to track the development of available solutions and identify opportunities for adapting the team's solution architecture. Monitor business capability landscape to identify opportunities for greater long-term business value.
  • Continuously stay on top of the latest trends and technologies and keep an eye out for any software, services or hardware that might improve business processes.
  • Complex strategizing to ascertain which legacy systems can be updated, what software or hardware can be replaced, and which services or products will support business operations across each department.
  • Exercise strong communication and analytical skills to determine the needs of a range of business units and processes and ensure that business units have the right tools to be successful.
  • Serve as a bridge in communications between multiple departments, fostering partnership and transparency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Certification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a technical discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures required, including experience managing delivery of complex technology solutions.
  • Certification in TOGAF (Required), Agile/Scrum, Professional Cloud Solution Architect, AWS Certified Solution Architect, CISSP Information’s Security Architecture Professional, or ITIL principals with experience implementing one of these practices highly preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of technologies and supplier capabilities and experience implementing these into new and existing large infrastructure/systems required.
  • Experience working within large organizations, and the ability to develop strong relationships throughout the organization required.
  • Knowledge of modern technology service architectural hosting, security, and risk management concerns such as identity and access management access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/XaaS, and containers required.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks operating in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid hosting environments highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate very technically challenging concepts to a broad audience required.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills required.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate and provide customer service required.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • 10 years of IT experience
  • Experience with Supply Chain Systems
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Power Apps
  • Experience with ECM/Document Management solutions
  • Experience with Office 365 (O365) and integrations
  • 10 years of experience with application development preferred
  • 10 years of supporting Application Servers
  • Experience with ERP (required), PLM, EDI, BI, SQL and web development preferred
  • Software development experience preferred
