The Information Technology (ITS) department at Charles River Associates is currently a team of more than 40 professionals dedicated to enhancing, maintaining, and developing the firm's technology infrastructure and security. The team is comprised of four functions:

  • Service Delivery & Telecom
  • Enterprise Application Solutions
  • Infrastructure, Networking and Cloud Solutions
  • Information Security

Information Technology staff are based in the Boston, Chicago, London, Munich, New York, Oakland, San Francisco, College Station and Washington, DC offices.

Job Overview

The IT Project Manager is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and implementing projects that support the information technology strategy and goals of the business. One of the key job functions is creating and maintaining project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates and status. The role requires management of staff on project teams and co-ordination across multiple departments and geographies to ensure these projects are correctly scoped, resourced and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a detailed requirements analysis for each project and agree on objectives
  • Develop, manage, and implement project plans
  • Develop accurate project timelines and ensure they are met by the members of the team
  • Represent the client’s or organization’s interests
  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters
  • Use agreed project management tools and technologies to keep track of people and progress
  • Ensure regular reporting to project stakeholders and senior management
  • Oversee the project budget, ensure the appropriate approvals are in place and report any changes in cost
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate the success of the project and provide feedback on the performance of the project team
  • Lead project meetings between teams and other stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems preferred
  • PMP preferred
  • At least 2-5 years of Project Management experience in an IT environment
  • A broad understanding of modern IT infrastructure including Microsoft technologies, virtual environments, SAN storage, hybrid cloud, network switching, firewalls, VPN etc
  • Experience using Smartsheet
  • Experience working in an international environment is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Interest in researching new technologies
  • A good understanding of today’s IT security challenges
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with a group of people with diverse personalities and backgrounds
  • Ability to deal with demanding stakeholders and maintain a calm manner in stressful situations
