Charles River Associates is Hiring a Director, Talent Acquisition Near New York City, NY

Who is Charles River Associates?

Charles River Associates is a top global consulting firm specializing in economic, financial, and management consulting services. CRA advises clients on economic and financial matters pertaining to litigation and regulatory proceedings, and guides corporations through critical business strategy and performance-related issues. Since 1965, clients have engaged CRA for its unique combination of functional expertise and industry knowledge, and for its objective solutions to complex problems.

Human Capital and Talent Acquisition

The Human Capital department is a team of about 20 professionals across 6 offices, committed to attracting, developing, and retaining excellent colleagues across the firm. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset: inspiring excellence and bringing expertise and innovation to your role every day.

The Global Talent Acquisition team is central to CRA’s success by identifying great talent to join our firm. As the leader of CRA’s Talent Acquisition function, you will oversee a global team of 6-8 recruiting colleagues whose mission is to identify and hire the best possible talent in order to create the engine for organic growth at CRA. This high-profile role requires a strategic leader who can drive initiatives, insights, and results; develop others; and work in close collaboration with executive leadership, our consulting practices and administrative departments, and the rest of the Human Capital team. You will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Our Commitment to Diversity

Charles River Associates is an equal opportunity employer. As part of our focus on equity and inclusion, we work to ensure a fair and consistent hiring process. We celebrate diversity and we are committed to an inclusive work environment.

Role & Expectations:

  • Collaborate and influence practice leadership in developing and fulfilling hiring plans; ensure processes, resourcing, and activities in place to execute with excellence and efficiency against those plans.
  • Refine and augment our year-round graduate and undergraduate recruiting strategy, including talent brand and market trends.
  • Leverage our technology infrastructure, processes, and tools to create efficiency gains and better insights/analytics into our talent acquisition activities.
  • Create a more effective talent assessment process and ensure broad implementation.
  • Lead and develop the global recruiting team (currently 6 recruiters)

Skills and Characteristics

  • You are both a strategic leader – setting a vision and generating ideas – but also a capable “doer” – able to participate in senior level recruiting and model/teach talent assessment best practices.
  • You are an able developer of people. You know how to motivate, engage, and appreciate a busy – and at times, stretched – global team and are a source of inspiration and innovation, sharing your experience and market knowledge. At the same time – you keep the team focused on what’s important (not just what’s urgent).
  • You are attentive to detail. While you are a “zoomed out” thinker, you know that it’s important to sweat the small stuff because each hiring manager and candidate interaction has high visibility and impact. You are responsive, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and deliver accurate, high-quality work and you hold your team accountable to the same standards of excellence.
  • You are able to navigate and nurture CRA’s organizational dynamics, context, culture, and relationships. You invest time in building relationships and bring tact and judgment to senior level interactions, knowing that change management requires tools of influence, creative persistence, information and insights, and a belief in the power of “small wins”.
  • You are a curious, resourceful, and collaborative problem-solver. You take initiative and run with your ideas, while at the same time drawing in the right resources and expertise from across the Human Capital team and beyond.

Other

  • Flexibility for periodic overnight and global travel
  • Near-term start date preferred
  • Professional services experience preferred
