Charah Solutions Inc. is Hiring a Logistics Coordinator Near Medley, FL

Overview

This position will identify and initiate tactical and strategic activities across the supply chain, including process development, process execution, and improvement, maintaining, and optimizing asset usage for shipments involving trucks and railcars at a transload facility. The position manages all loading/unloading of railcars and trucks at a transload facility and ensures that proper documentation is recorded for tracking/forecasting purposes.

Responsibilities

Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.

  • Responsible for comprehensive oversight and cost-effective and efficient management of a transload operation to include monitoring and tracking rail car locations, rail logistics, haulers, and volumes.
  • Directs the scheduling of daily truck transportation operations and ensures compliance with operating policies, regulations, and work rules.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor and update shipping schedules.
  • Research and resolve shipping issues associated with incorrect BOL or Waybills
  • Develop, maintain, monitor a rail cycle tracking system that includes tracking key performance indicators.
  • Interface with Subcontractors, Haulers, and Rail Carriers to ensure that adequate resources have been deployed for the current unloading schedule.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with shipping documents.
  • Routinely interface with applicable management to provide updated status reports and forecast changes.
  • Verification of rail cars being emptied and visual inspection of rail car lids.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of recent rail transit and rail logistics experience is preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong ability to professionally interact with a variety of team members and business affiliates
  • Self-motivation, willingness to proactively pursue and acquire the expertise necessary to complete the position’s purpose.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and to take direction from management offsite.
  • Ability to communicate, listen, and understand information to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Forward-thinker who anticipates multiple outcomes of a given supply chain process
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, ability to drive results
  • Experience with RFP processes related to transportation needs
  • Experience with Ship CSX is preferred

Work Environment & Conditions

  • This position requires working in an internal environment as well as an external construction environment
  • Be subject to atmospheric conditions - one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends may be required
  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be subject to loud noises
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
  • Act independently and originate new procedures and new approaches to problems
