Description

OBJECTIVES:

• Create operational effectiveness of material & product flow through warehouse (inbound, receiving, processing, inventory tracking, stocking, shipping, and outbound) as measured by Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs and Inventory (SQDCI)
• - Enforce safety & general housekeeping
• - Train & communicate to improve quality
• - Hit delivery schedules
• - Reduce operating & overhead costs
• - Drive accurate inventory management
• Use data & analytics to proactively identify process improvements, productivity gains, and forecast optimal staffing levels
• Lead with employee engagement in mind; role model, coach and develop others in leadership effectiveness
• Implement standard work in communications to 1) clarify accountabilities and expectations for direct reports/team leaders and 2) establish consistent on-going use of leader check-ins with associates
• Establish and communicate clear processing procedures for stock that requires special, rush, or seasonal handling to minimize errors and ensure smooth flow of work
• Operate with internal customer needs (voice of the customer) in mind; trucks loaded to facilitate effective unloading at Store

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide strong leadership and mentoring to the warehouse Supervisors and staff
• Assist in development and implementation of warehousing, inventory control and shipping strategies
• Managing and overseeing the day-to-day warehouse activities to ensure efficiency
• Coaching employees and conducting employee performance management
• Updating and refining processes, policies and procedures
• Develop procedures to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility
• Creation of Quality Control measurements to ensure accuracy or processed merchandise
• Monitoring space layout plan to ensure all space is used efficiently
• Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of both internal and external reports
• Execute SOPs and hold your team accountable, including progressive discipline when necessary
• Provides feedback to develop employees and future leaders

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have ability to stand, or sit, for extended periods (entire shift) and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
• Ability to bend and twist frequently

WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 Years proven warehouse management experience
• Manufacturing or light manufacturing experience needed
• Industrial engineered background preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Turnaround Experience a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Routinely work near moving mechanical parts such as vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies or similar mechanical devices
• Willing to work in hot and cold conditions
• Moderate to loud noise levels
