We are currently seeking two Traffic Engineers to join our Traffic & ITS Team based in Miami, FL. These roles will directly support clients in Miami, FL and West Palm Beach, FL.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s Traffic and ITS team provides planning, analysis, modeling, and design development for public and private sector clients. Our team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical staff provide a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience in all facets of modal mobility, accessibility, safety, technology, and deployment. From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

Working alongside CHA’s professional engineers, the Traffic Engineer supports the design, development, implementation, and technical analysis on projects to suit individual client needs. The Traffic Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks, and works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Traffic Engineer will also identify technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections when necessary. They will also develop and maintain a familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the firm’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required; concentration in Transportation preferred
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of related Transportation and/or Traffic Engineering experience required
• Specific experience with signal timing, traffic management, and operating traffic systems
• INSA Certification is a plus
• Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
