We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance Team based in Albany, NY.

We offer most employees the option of a hybrid schedule with a work week that includes both office and work from home days

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's corporate groups support our technical sectors and market teams with financial, legal, business development and marketing, human resources, information technology and operational services to meet our clients' evolving needs.

The Staff Accountant performs detailed cost and financial analysis to ensure accurate and timely completion of month end closing and annual reporting. This individual is responsible for monthly standard journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and preparing and distributing daily cash reporting. The Staff Accountant works closely with the general ledger staff and provides treasury management support as well as maintaining and providing backup to cash control and accounts payable functions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and has an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of 3 years progressive accounting knowledge and experience required
• Experience within a consulting or engineering firm preferred
• Familiarity with accounting under GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Demonstrates a solution oriented and client focused mindset
• Must be organized, reliable, and highly ethical
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with the company's financial and personnel information
• Ability to follow through on specific objectives and complex issues as directed
• Ability to meet critical business deadlines
• Ability to work independently and resolve issues and problems on own or ask for assistance when necessary
