Certified Laboratories has a new rewarding opportunity for a self-sufficient and motivated Chemistry Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for chemical testing by following AOAC, USDA, SMEDP and FDA standards and requirements. This key role will efficiently and accurately perform testing and conduct food analysis in our clinical laboratory, in both independent and team oriented capacities. Ideal candidate will have a good attitude especially when working flexible or long hours due to special projects.

Essential Functions:

• Performing chemical testing by accurately following all SOP's and laboratory methods.
• Participating in Quality Control tests on proficiency samples, IRM's and any other check samples deemed appropriate by the Chemistry Department Manager.
• Perform routine lab testing with accurate and timely recording of test results into the system module and utilize lab reference materials for information regarding testing.
• Correctly maintaining all records relevant to the preparation and standardization of all reagents.
• This includes accurately labeling substances as appropriate.
• Preparing and standardizing all reagents necessary to perform tests.
• Identifying and communicating results that require discussion with Department Manager/Supervisor.
• Assisting in the maintenance of quality system records to comply with all accrediting agencies.
• Participating in Quality Control testing deemed relevant by Certified Laboratories.
• Submitting accurate and timely results based on the analysis.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry.
• Good conceptual basis in chemistry with proven ability to perform basic chemistry techniques.
• Strong relevant qualitative and quantitative skills.
• Must have excellent documentation practices.
• Solid knowledge of laboratory processes and quality control environment.
• Strong reasoning ability and resourcefulness to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Excellent general mathematical ability and knowledgeable in computing rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Be a team player with accomplished communication skills to partner with various levels.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to distinguish colors.
