Description

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for creating and executing purchase orders to ensure products are delivered timely, accurately, efficiently and effectively. The purchasing team works with all stakeholders internal and external, including Customers, Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Vendors.

Ideal candidate is self-directed, has excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, is detail-oriented, able to manage multiple demands and possesses a process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Sets-up complex orders and issues purchase orders to vendors. Tracks order status and manages efforts to expedite and/or resolve rejections. 
• Manages Open Sales Order Report and meets committed invoicing dates for both customer and this organization. 
• Understands promotions and pricing to meet or exceed sold margin commitments. Reconciles invoice discrepancies.
• Updates stakeholders with tracking information using various methods of communication.
• Assists team members with order processing, reconciliation, research, and/or any activities needed to understand the customer’s sold environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or MIS is preferred.
• At least two years’ purchasing experience required. Experience purchasing technology products, licenses and support is strongly desired. Prior experience working for a VAR or systems integrator, and experience with public purchasing contracts is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with strong Excel skills.
• Basic understanding of business accounting and good math skills
• Basic understanding of data networks (servers, gateways, endpoints)
• Must be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple priorities at once while meeting established deadlines
• Experience working in a Team environment and effectively working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
