Our Pet Segment is searching for a Production Supervisor in our Neptune, NJ office. The Production Supervisor is expected to optimize the molding process and the productivity of the workforce to satisfy internal and external customers with the highest quality product at a reasonable price and on time. This highly visible position is ideal for the production professional who is seeking an opportunity to contribute to the success of an industry leader.

MEASURE OF SUCCESS

• Trains employees in company policies and procedures, and in the proper and safe use of equipment and tools.
• Responsible for ensuring housekeeping and optimum utilization of space on the production floor to maintain organization.
• Responsible for production paperwork, including production reports, employee attendance sheets, related production equipment inventory.
• Directs and mentors’ Technical staff to accomplish company objectives and goals.
• Documents and reports production and personnel data as required.
• Utilizes and maintains ERP system (IQMS) to maximize asset utilization and plant performance.
• Make recommendations to improve operations and efficiency, and reduce cost.
• Builds the capability of molding technicians, material handlers, and machine tenders to maintain operation efficiencies, meet objectives in a safe and productive environment.
• Post and transfer all product and raw materials as needed, including but not limited to track, analyze and resolve any variances.
• Required to maintain technical expertise on new processes, equipment, and industry practices.
• Reviews all reports within the responsibility area, with the plant manager and scheduling, on a periodic basis, In order to make decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, capacity, and material availability.
• Develop an understanding of customers’ needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.
• Manage and maintain objectives and goals in accordance with standard molding machine cycles, to maximize machine run time and minimize machine downtime.
• Ensure employee awareness of both physical and food safety requirements, company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and hold employees accountable.
• Expected to be a hands-on manager and aware of financial result of management decisions
• Performs other duties as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• Five plus years’ experience in the plastic injection molding industry.
• Two to three years of prior supervisory experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, effective team-building skills, proven ability to deliver results, strong ability to multi-task and prioritize, and the ability to effectively manage conflict, and maintain strong employee relations.
• Effective PC skills required (Microsoft Office).
• Prior knowledge or experience in Lean Manufacturing would be beneficial.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evening, nights, and/or weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, and/or loud noises. Considerable physical activity requires heavy physical work including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
