CENTRAL CALIFORNIA BLOOD CENTER is Hiring an Inventory Control Clerk Near Fresno, CA

Description

FLSA: Full-time, non-exempt

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Schedule: 40 hours (Monday – Friday)

Location: Jenny Eller Donor Center, Fresno, CA 

Job Summary: 

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures of items of inbound shipments to verify information against bills of lading, purchase orders, and other records.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Understand and follow all Supply COP’s and SOP’s. SOP’s include but are not limited to the following: Entering Blood Bags, Kits, and Tube Lot Numbers in CCBC’s BECS and ensuring CCBC receives & has readily available copies of the “Certificate of Sterility”; Tracking Lot Numbers and Expiration dates of Supplies; and Acceptance/Rejection of Incoming Supplies used for the collection and processing of blood and blood products.
  • Maintains the inventory of materials and supplies — stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments. 
  • Prepares daily shipments for other CCBC donor centers. Monitors inventory orders to ensure stocking levels are accurate.
  • Create, print shipping labels, and ship items as needed.
  • Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with external and internal customers/vendors.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID (booster not required)
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other CCBC staff and outside vendors.
  • Familiar with computers and have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions
  • Good organizational skills and time management.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 years of warehouse/inventory experience.
  • Electric pallet jack certification

Physical Activity:

  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity Requirements:

The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).

Working conditions:

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
