Job Description of Construction General Laborer:

General Laborer is responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel under the direction of the Production Manager and/or lead men.

Duties & Responsibilities of Construction General Laborer:

• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and/or marking gauge.
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
• Mark reference points on construction materials.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Cut wood components for installation.
• Work from blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, caulking or drywall.
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, routers and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Work on top of ladders, scaffolds and the top beams of buildings.
• Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and levels to ensure all components are level, square and secure.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements of Construction General Laborer:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean MVR
