Job Description: SBI (Severe Behavior Intervention) Therapist Job Description The SBI school-based therapist provides counseling services in a timely manner to students at MNPS special day treatment schools (Murrell and Cora Howe) who are experiencing behavioral and/or mental health difficulties in a special day treatment school. The therapist may also provide family counseling and group counseling. Services are provided in Davidson County schools and in the community The SBI therapist also works collaboratively with school staff and administration to address the needs of clients/students served and to provide assistance with crisis services when needed. This is a 12-month full-time position (40 hours per week) Requirements: Applicant must have a Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage/family therapy. Applicants with experience counseling children strongly desired. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to individuals seeking our services. Timeliness of services Flexibility Key Performance Indicators Meet billable hour productivity standards. Complete Intake assessments and reassessments on time. Complete same-day clinical documentation and maintain records Complete individualized treatment plans and other clinical service authorizations in a timely manner. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Attends meetings (IEP, SAT Team, Data meetings, etc.) Develops and delivers presentations to staff and parents/caregivers Provides consultation to school staff as needed Assist on a daily basis with managing students with severe emotional and behavioral issues. Assessment of all students in crisis which can include (suicidal ideations, homicidal ideations, and acts of physical aggression and threats) Assess referred students or students in need of appropriateness of service including making contact with guardians and completing full intake assessments Develops person-centered unified care plans with client and guardian which include diagnosis, goals, and applying evidence-based interventions Intervenes with students and clients at school where there is a mental health crisis communicating with the guardian and of school on steps needed to stabilize the student. This can mean contacting other agencies DCS, mobile crisis, etc. Works as a child and family advocate Consults frequently with other Centerstone behavioral staff and MNPS staff Completes classroom observations as required to further assess students functioning and interactions with others Actively seeks out new cases to build a caseload Assist in transitioning students to the least restrictive school settings. Assist in the clinic or other school-based sites as needed to maintain productivity Other duties as assigned Time Type: Full time Delivering care that changes people's lives starts with our employees.
