Job Description: As a Recovery Specialist, you will be a key facet in the recovery process for all of the clients in the program, as you work closely with the Coordinator and Recovery Coach to ensure that the expectations of the program are being met. As part of Recovery Team, you will be asked to fulfill the following essential duties and responsibilities: There are no supervision requirements for this position. Working with the clients to help achieve their individualized programming and recovery goals. Assisting clients in learning how to meet basic needs, including, but not limited to: medication management, developing life skills (i.e. cooking, money management, cleaning, and parenting), pursuing recreational and leisure activities, housing, transportation, legal, medical and financial assistance, and securing appropriate entitlements. Assisting in setting treatment goals and developing individualized care plans with clients to support recovery, increasing positive community support(s), learning and implementing recovery-focused behaviors, and developing transition plans. Participating in weekly team meetings to coordinate client care and assisting in the development of person-centered care plans. Monitoring and documenting client behaviors through daily interactions and check-ins to ensure program compliance, as well as to gauge their progress in treatment. Observing and documenting client compliance with medication regimens as dictated in the treatment plan; assisting clinical staff in meeting/monitoring the client’s medical and health care needs. Complete clinical documentation that is accurate, meets organizational standards in composition and content, and is adequate for communication about client’s treatment and progress. Assisting with census management, including admissions and discharges. Being a positive and supportive influence for the clients, as well as for the staff. Planning/implementing therapeutic recreation/activities/groups. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, not required. Two years of related work or related college experience regarding substance use and recovery. Recovery-focused mindset. Preferences: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from a four-year college or university preferred. Experience working and/or volunteering within the behavioral health field, criminal justice, or social services field will be considered in place of preferred degree focus. Key Performance Indicators: Meet billable hour productivity standards. Complete clinical documentation within one business day of the service provided. Other Duties and Responsibilities: All other duties as assigned. This position includes flexible hours, depending on full-time or part-time, where staff can work eight or ten hour days, and the amount of days will adjust accordingly. Preference is for the recovery specialist to have weekend and evening availability, but is not a requirement for consideration.
