The Center for Learning & Autism Support Services, Inc. (CLASS) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This person must be well versed in both Federal and California employment law and will report to the Human Resources Manager.

(CLASS) is a well-established (over 18 years in the Bay Area), highly regarded and nationally recognized agency in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, dedicated to using ABA evidence-based methodologies for the treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The position is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position that supports the Human Resources and Operations team. The primary responsibilities for this position will be to assist with all Human Resources functions and taking responsibility for ensuring clinicians meet and maintain all credentialing criteria required by the funding sources they work with. This individual must maintain the utmost confidentiality at all times with regard to employee personal and financial information and adhere to the CLASS policies outlined in the Company handbook, especially our Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:• High School Graduate or equivalent• Minimum one year experience in Human Resources preferred (but not required)• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Possess exceptional collaboration skills with colleagues and superiors to meet individual and corporate goals• Display clear and concise communication with all employees. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor utilizing solution-based language• Provide direct, honest and respectful solutions, strategies and opinions when working with the executive staff• Excellent time management skills and organization• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel, Word, and OneDrive)• Strong attention to detail and professional etiquette required• Adhere to strict confidentiality• Experience with HRIS systems, BambooHR, Paychex, Microsoft 365, and CentralReach is a plus
Human Resources:• Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning• Provide support and guidance to HR assistant, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to
administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations• Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent• Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance• Regularly update and consolidate HR related documentation and procedures in a centralized location• Assist with the enforcement of company policies and procedures as directed• Collect, maintain, and organize the storage of online personnel documents within the appropriate storage service• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law• Manage both on-boarding and off-boarding of employees and ensure all necessary steps are completed• Follow up with employees to ensure they have delivered required paperwork and completed necessary trainings• Report of worker’s compensation related incidents to WC provider and collaborate with employees and continue to monitor claims• Prepare and analyze reports on employee benefits and eligibility• Review timesheets and assist with preparation of data prior to the processing of payroll• Compose and type routine correspondence; manage and administer incoming mail• Ensure employee evaluations are taking place at proper intervals• Assist with the management and administration of HR-related software and online services as well as Microsoft 365 user management• Coordination of meetings related to training and HR issues• Assist with asset tracking, employee expenses, and payroll processing as necessary• Perform other tasks as developed and assigned by the Human Resources Manager, Operations Officer, and CEO
