Cenikor Foundation is a non profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking several Part Time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) for the facility in Farmington, New Mexico.
JOB SUMMARY:
The EMT is responsible for working closely with nursing, program and clinical staff to provide health services and professional emergency medical care for all clients. The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday - Sunday 11pm - 7am
Saturday - Sunday 7am - 3pm
Saturday - Sunday 3pm - 11pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide clients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Examine and evaluate clients to determine necessary care.
- Dispense prescribed medications as needed to clients daily.
- Coordinate client care with nurse manager and/or physician supervision.
- Document client information, condition and treatment in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Welligent.
- Observe clients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify physician, nursing supervisor, and facility director of issues as appropriate. Monitor vital signs upon admission, during treatment and upon discharge.
- Work in conjunction with all facility staff to facilitate a safe environment for client recovery.
- Administer CPR in emergency situations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for clients.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations in regard to client confidentiality. Maintain strict confidentiality on all Foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
- Uphold the core principles of Cenikor’s culture and help create a positive working environment for all team members.
- Ensure completion of Big 5 performance report by the required deadline and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

- Knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
- Experienced in providing medical care to a diverse population.
- Excellent assessment and communication skills.
- Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Licensure:
- Current EMT certification/license in the state of practice
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in an emergency care setting preferred
- Experience providing care for individuals with alcohol and substance abuse, mental health and chemical dependency treatment preferred
- Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
