Cenikor Foundation is a non profit organization and one of the largest substance abuse treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking a Full-time Custodian/Maintenance to help in our Farmington, NM facility.

JOB SUMMARY:The Custodian/Maintenance worker is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping and mopping the facility and client rooms along with both routine repair and general maintenance of the facilities, building, and equipment, including vehicles. The Custodian/Maintenance worker executes work within established procedures and process under both verbal and written instructions. The Custodian/Maintenance worker uses company vehicles to pick up maintenance and other supplies at various locations as needed.

SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday 7a-4p

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Clean facility in accordance with established cleaning schedule.
2. Handle general housekeeping duties.
3. Assist with client room cleaning and turnover.
4. Ensure public restrooms are clean.
5. Secure all equipment on a daily basis.
6. Comply with all safety procedures for equipment operation, including the use of personal protection equipment.
7. Report any necessary repairs or replacement to supervisor.
8. Performing repair or general Maintenance work of facility, building, grounds and equipment including carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks.
9. Repairing and treating structures such as showers, floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs.
10. Preforming minor repairs, troubleshooting and adjustment of locks on cabinets, lock, closets, desks.
11. Repairing door hinges, changing filters on ventilating, heating, and air condition units.
12. Servicing kitchen, appliances, and emergency equipment, reporting mechanical malfunctions for outside service.
13. Moving and assisting in transportation of furniture and equipment.
14. Exercising discretion to identify repairs that require higher using outside, specialized repair services.
15. Performing basic vehicle maintenance and checking fuel levels and filling as needed.
16. Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
17. Uphold the core principles of Cenikor’s culture to help maintain a positive working environment for all team members.
18. Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor
19. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Knowledge and experience in cleaning and sanitizing rooms
• Ability to use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops and other cleaning tools
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• 1-year experience as a housekeeper / cleaner / custodian / maintenance
