Overview

Celldex Therapeutics is seeking a senior scientist to work on multiple projects in our New Haven, CT research facility. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to work independently, able to work productively in a team environment and take ownership of multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize in experimental design, data interpretation and presentation.
• Innovative, creative, and independent individual, with strong personal leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness/ability to direct activities of other scientists directly and/or indirectly; previous supervisory experience is highly desired.
• Well organized and demonstrated ability in preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Be able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Ph.D. degree in immunology or related field; and 3 - 5 years of post-graduate experience in research (including postdoctoral or industry experience) are required.
• Strong understanding of immune cell function and signaling, and inflammatory diseases. An understanding of mechanistic principles governing inflammation, cancer biology, and immuno-oncology is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience with immune cell function in vitro and in vivo, immunophenotyping and cytokine analysis is required.
• Experience with the development of monoclonal antibody and/or other biologic drug candidates for the treatment of cancer and/or inflammation is desirable.
• Expertise with the analysis of immune cells and molecules (rodent and human) in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo; and analysis of immune cells by multiparameter FACS, functional assays, IHC and ELISA with the aim of developing assays to assess mechanism of action and biomarkers for oncology and immune cell targeting agents.
• Experience with antibody and protein expression and purification is a plus
