Shift: 1st shift 7:00am-3:00pm

Job Description

  • Provides care to residents that is designed to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence, and prevent functional declines
  • Performs Active Range of Motion (AROM) and Passive Range of Motion (PROM) in a safe manner to residents
  • Ambulates residents while utilizing appropriate equipment or devices in a safe manner
  • Assists residents to apply and remove splints or prostheses
  • Encourages the residents to perform tasks for him/themselves as appropriate
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Provides good body alignment, positioning device, and contracture padding as appropriate
  • Reports to the DON any adverse conditions experienced by the resident during the provision of restorative nursing care including, but not limited to, pain
  • Monitors and assists with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote t to the highest extent possible without resident decline, unless the decline is documented as unavoidable
  • Communicates resident's progress results to the DON and seeks input and supervision from Nurse to confirm findings
  • Cooperates with licensed rehabilitative therapists when providing restorative nursing care to residents when appropriate
  • Performs all duties and functions as listed in the Certified Nurse Assistant job description
  • Possesses and demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of safe, restorative nursing care practices
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of good body mechanics
  • Has the ability to evaluate and document the effectiveness of the restorative care received by the resident
  • Observes all safety precautions as required by the facility's policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations
  • Must be able to develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that residents' needs are met
  • Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non judgmental, supportive, and calm manner
  • Addresses resident and family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner
  • Adheres to and interprets resident rights, federal and state regulations, and personnel policies
  • Understand special needs and limitations of elderly
  • Recognize and identify problems and refer to others if necessary
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal/property rights
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
