POSITION LOCATION: HICKMAN, NE

Cedar Plains Family Medicine is looking for a MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our team in our Hickman, Nebraska office. The MA or CMA will assist patients in their health care journey. The ideal candidate will deliver a professional, compassionate, and qualified first impression to all patients. This person will have excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she should have a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and electronic health records. The MA or CMA will display a positive attitude and be able to multitask in a busy environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Patient Reception – Welcome patients and their families, and health care proxies. Check-in patients, take vitals, and enter medical history and medications into the Electronic Health Record. Schedule and make follow-up appointments, make calls to patients, answer emails, receive and send faxes and referrals to other health care offices, prior authorizations, medication refills, and coordinate health care services for follow-up.
• Patient care - Draw and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, run on-site rapid and molecular lab testing, prepare and assist the provider in exams and procedures, give injections or vaccinations as ordered, while providing a clean and safe environment for patient care. 
• Administration –Work within the Electronic Health Record in scanning, uploading, organizing, and notifying providers of incoming patient information.

Requirements:

• Minimum one-year experience in a medical practice
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program. Certification preferred but not required.
• Must be licensed as a Medication Aide in the State of Nebraska without restriction or probation. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF
• Medical Terminology: 1 year, preferred
• Reliable, professional, courteous and patient
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• EHR/EMR experience

Job-Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday
