CDI Energy Products is Hiring a CNC Operator I - 2nd Shift Near Humble, TX

2nd shift (M-F; 4 PM-12AM). Some Saturday work will be required as well. (Shift differential available) Learns to operate CNC machines FANUC and MAZAK under heavy supervision to fabricate plastic parts. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Learns and practices reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Learns the correct method to oil, clean, and maintain equipment before, during and after it has been used. Learns and practices measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining. With the supervision and guidance of senior operators, selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. Learns how to start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. With the supervision and guidance of senior operators, verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications by using PI tape and dial calipers. With the supervision and guidance of senior operators, sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Sign off and have supervisor or co-machinist sign off on all set up parts to verify and approve prior to running production. Confer with supervisor or leadperson to resolve machining problems. Work in a safe manner and maintain sound housekeeping practices. Perform other work related duties as assigned. SupervisionWorks under close supervision and follows detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma Required. Must score 80%> on Math Assessment. Must be able to read and write in English.Exposure to a manufacturing environment preferred. Work Environment and DemandsWork Environment: Spends 100% of time in the shop. Standing 90% of time.List Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heaving machinery, fumes, dust, heat and high pressure and temperatures.
