iHeartMedia Job Summary: iHeartMedia is seeking a payroll enthusiast wanting to grow their payroll acumen and responsibilities while coordinating and overseeing the payroll processing operations and activities for 10,000 U.S. based employees in a multi-state, multiple FEIN environment with segments of union populations reporting to the Payroll Director. Responsibilities: Coordinate and lead the processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll processing. Resolve issues delaying payroll processing. Engage with and lead a team of two payroll specialists to manage daily workflow ensuring all transactions and payroll processes are accomplished timely and accurately. Provide problem solving assistance, team guidance along with training, and support as needed. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Backup to payroll specialist duties. Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll escalations including employee engagement and complex error resolution. Ensure contractual items are entered and paying accordingly. Receive and document any necessary approvals prior to processing any non-standard payments. Ensure complete and accurate record keeping for all payroll transactions. Maintain updated documentation of payroll processes and informational repository. Contribute to updating payroll processes, procedures, systems, and associated workflows to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency. Identify areas of concerns and refers them to the payroll director. Assist with two annual software updates and associated testing. Assist with annual Sox audit. Other projects and tasks as required by the business. Strengthen your understanding of both operational and technical processes. Skills and Qualifications: End to end payroll processing. Statutory and regulatory payroll knowledge. Excellent written and oral communication skills along with a strong business acumen are required. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization. Heavy interaction and collaboration with various functional departments across the business including HR, payroll tax, HRIS, HRIT, accounting, finance, and legal. Excellent organizational skills and have extreme flexibility to meet business demands and deadlines. Prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a high degree of accuracy. People oriented, works with little direction, high stress tolerance, ability to handle adverse situations and thrives in a high-pressure environment. Must be detail oriented with complex critical thinking skills. Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible. Ability to maintain confidentiality and possess an elevated level of honesty and integrity. Ability to work well and collaborate with a tenured team. Team player with a positive attitude. Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities. Analytical and critical thinking skills, including advanced Excel skills and demonstrated ability of analyzing data. Ability to take initiative and additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Education and Experience: Associates degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (or equivalent experience). Multi-state payroll experience. Union experience a plus. 3 to 5 years progressive payroll experience, minimum of 1 year in a supervisor/team lead role. CPP certification preferred. Workday experience a plus.
