Responsibilities:

• Perform highly diverse duties to ensure the overall safety of the plant and its personnel. These duties will include but not limited to creating and maintaining programs, auditing based on programs, presenting training, reviewing SOP for potential safety issues, employee manual, and ensuring OSHA compliance at all levels
• Manage all elements of the site's environmental, health and safety program to ensure compliance with air permitting, waste water discharge, hazardous waste, OSHA safety, industrial hygiene and workers compensation.
• Engage employees in safety by directing a safety committee composed of employees from all areas of the plant
• Identify potential EHS concerns and provide corrective actions
• Maintain OSHA compliance regarding essential safety programs
• Develop scheduled plant-wide safety trainings
• Deliver safety orientation for new hires
• Participates in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action identification and compile statistical reports.
• Analyzes operational data, performs calculations, and prepares reports for environmental compliance.
• Reviews new processes and process modifications for environmental impacts.
• Ensures product regulatory compliance through collection of supplier compliance documents, product testing, and monitoring of upcoming regulatory changes.
• Assists in overseeing emergency response programs and procedures, including organization of response drills and provides clear direction to all LPI team members.
• Performs other duties and assumes accountability as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

Qualifications:

• Background in Chemical Enginnering preferred
• 3-5 years in a leadership role
• Able to read, write and speak English and follow instructions
• Strong technical writing skills; willing to put those skills to work in creating new programs and expanding existing ones
• Time management skills
• General knowledge of mechanical equipment with emphasis on routine maintenance and how to make equipment safer
• Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of OSHA requirements for general industry
• OSHA 30 General Industry and Construction certification or willingness to obtain
