  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Product Engineer will provide technical support for new business applications and drive cost and quality improvements to existing products. This person will be responsible to determine costs and conduct feasibility reviews on new products. From the award of new business, the product engineer will manage the project until successfully approved by the customer and internal stakeholders. The product engineer will be responsible to ensure new business meets quality and cost objectives. Product engineers will also support changes requested by suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New part setup including:
    • Verifying all feasibility concerns are addressed
    • QAD part setup
    • Documenting manufacturing and quality specifications
    • Coordinating lab testing
    • Tooling design and order
    • Flow, PFMEA, control plan documentation
  • Quoting new business: material identification, manufacturing process, cost analysis, noting and addressing feasibility concerns
  • Setup for new materials: planning requirements, spec identification, IMDS, Reach/RoHS
  • ECNs for material changes or other changes requiring customer approval
  • Project management for larger scale product launches (coordinate testing, prototyping, test orders, control plan development)
  • Supporting manufacturing with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for customer complaints. Own all actions associated with product or process design
  • Any other tasks as assigned to support business needs
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous project coordination/management in an engineering role
  • Previous engineering role requiring regular customer interaction
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Creativity and analytical skills
  • Competence with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, or other)
  • Technical experience in a printing and/or converting environment preferred
  • Lean Certification preferred
