Description
Prepare, examine and analyze accounting and financial records from Sage to ensure their accuracy, completeness and compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles by applying relevant accounting knowledge such as accrual principle and matching principle in the following steps: (1) examine and analyze all the transactions in the accounting period based on the accrual-basis accounting principle and revenue and expense recognition principle to ensure the accuracy of accounts and the reasonability of project assignment; (2) prepare monthly journal entries, where a delivered service is recorded as Revenue (more specifically, recorded as "Unearned Revenue" until the service is fully delivered); (3) establish accounts payable and accounts receivable aging reports based on the number of days to estimate future collection of payments and short-term liabilities, the consistency between revenues and expenses, as well as stability of cash flow; (4) reconcile and verify bank statements and credit card statements in accordance with internal accounting records to identify potential discrepancies and eliminate such discrepancies if there are any. Utilize the knowledge of intermediate accounting, accounting cycle and applicable accounting principles (e.g., revenue recognition, expense recognition, going concern, measurement principle) to perform month-end accounting closing in the following steps: (1) prepare unadjusted trial balance and adjusting journal entries and establish adjusted trial balance accordingly; (2) close temporary accounts including Revenues, Expenses, and Dividends accounts to the Income Summary accounts (for example, closing a Revenue account is to debit the revenue and credit the income summary account; closing an expense account is to debit the income summary account and credit the expense account); (3) transfer both the balance in Income Summary accounts and the balance in Dividends accounts to Retained Earnings; (4) generate the post-closing trial balance to examine the amount of permanent accounts including assets, liabilities and owner's equity accounts to make sure that the ending balance of the previous period is equal to the beginning of the next period. Generate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports such as Income Statements and Cash flow Statements and repot them to the management for profit growth and decision making in the following steps: (1) examine and establish the Cash Flow Statements by applying proper methods such as Direct Method or Indirect Method (for example, Direct Method is to categorize the activities into operating activities, investing activities and financing activities); (2) determine the revenue amount by applying revenue recognition and the Cost of Goods Sold amount to derive the gross margin; (3) apply specific construction accounting methods (e.g., Percentage-of-Completion Method or Completed Contract Method) for any long-term contracts; (4) utilize the cost accounting knowledge regarding the product cost assigning method to reasonably allocate direct labor, indirect labor and manufacturing overheads cost; (5) derive the Net Income for the preparation of Balance Sheet; (6) compute applicable financial ratios (e.g., gross margin, profit margin, return on assets, return on equity, current ratio, etc.) to access the company's profitability and efficiency and make recommendations and suggestions to the management.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 6 months of experience in offered position or 6 months of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Will accept a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
