Catholic Financial Life is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Milwaukee, WI

Staff Accountant

Catholic Financial Life has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Staff Accountant to join our team! This role is an ideal fit for an intellectually curious problem-solver who thrives in being challenged and seeks to join a high-functioning team. You will work closely with the Controller and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to perform accounting and finance functions. You will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, regulatory reporting, accounts receivable and other general accounting responsibilities. A high level of initiative, ownership of responsibilities, attention to detail and strong analytical skills are necessary. Your work will make a difference in our organization and to the members and communities we serve.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Staff Accountant, you will help us grow and play an active role in the organization’s digital transformation. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform accounting related to capital assets
  • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, state filings, and audit workpapers
  • Cash management functions (Example: accounts receivable)
  • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 0 – 3 years experience, familiarity with the financial services industry a plus
  • Accounting related software; high-level Excel skills
  • Aptitude for accounting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Dynamic, passionate, and energetic professional with the desire to learn and grow within the organization

Successful candidates will use innovative thinking to leverage technology, be able to interpret regulatory guidance, prioritize tasks and work independently in a hands-on learning environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
