Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing and scheduling transportation on the CCEW/Nazareth Bus for Catholic School Service, supportive programs in our family housing units and other CCEW events/programs. Coordinates fleet maintenance, schedules, and repairs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this job.

  1. Schedule and transport residents in our supported family housing programs throughout the Diocese of Spokane to events, field trips, shopping and other services and outings as designated by the Housing and Housing Stabilization staff. These events will primarily be during evenings, weekends and school breaks.
  2. In coordination with the Volunteer and Donor Engagement Specialist in the Community Relations office, schedule and transport Catholic School programs and tours throughout the diocese, in support of our volunteer and educational goals. These events will primarily be Monday through Friday during school hours over the course of the school year, with some weekend programs on occasion.
  3. Provide transportation as needed for other agency, donor and volunteer events throughout the year.
  4. Act as host/tour guide as needed for the various constituents utilizing the CCEW Bus.
  5. Clean and maintain the bus and agency van as needed. Ensure all inspections and licenses/tabs/registrations remain current on both vehicles.
  6. Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  7. Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
  8. As a mandated reporter, follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
  9. Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  10. Perform as a team member to assure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.

Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

Education/Experience:to perform this job successfully, an individual must have a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree.

Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive for work use, including a safe driving record with no serious infractions over the past three-year period. Current CDL license/Class B with passenger endorsement required. Must successfully pass background check and drug screen as applicable to position.

Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, hear/listen, talk
  • Frequentlylift up to 40 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach
  • Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel
  • Clearly see 20 feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness), ability to focus
  • Must be willing and able to drive within assigned area
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon hire
