As production shift supervisor you are responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Actively lead shift production incorporating safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance
  • Knowledge of all production processes and equipment. Monitor performance of team. Develop action plans for training and people development for team. Lead and coach direct and indirect reports.
  • Understand all production related documents (SOP's, BOM's, Quality Standards, etc.) and help to keep them current and accurate.
  • Understands, effectively utilizes and interfaces with the MRP system (QAD).
  • Support continuous improvement.
  • Manage operational metrics (KPI) to achieve site targets.
  • Oversee all of production in accordance with the QMS (Quality Management System) with a strong focus on safety. Responsible to lead, set expectations and all necessary reporting. Understand and execute role as a leader of production. Complete other related projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years' experience supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment, required
  • 5 years' experience developing teams and individual employees, required
  • Proficient with computers and spreadsheet software & experience with business systems (i.e. QAD, Kronos, MS Office), required

  • A team player and self-starter who meets commitments & deadlines with limited direct supervision
  • Safe and quality work ethic
  • Understands SOP's that relate to department activities
  • Good analytical problem solving skills
  • Must have ability to manage performance, use leadership skills, demonstrate organizational and decision-making skills and team building and motivating skills
  • Demonstrate a high degree of customer relations
  • Must have knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an ISO environment and with World Class Manufacturing, lean or Six Sigma programs

To make sure nothing is forgotten

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $77,400 to $120,100 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $85,100 to $132,100. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
