Laboratory Supervisor Position Summary: The Laboratory Supervisor will handle analytical testing of drug substance and drug product samples following client guidelines/methods, CMTI procedures, policies and cGMPs. the Laboratory Supervisor will also manage analytical projects including issuing quotations, customer interface, coordination/scheduling of activities, project updates etc. In addition, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible and accountable for accomplishing the team’s work through themselves as well as through their direct reports. The Role: Perform analytical testing on internal (i.e. production support) or external sample submissions. Such testing may include, but is not limited to: particle size analysis, surface area analysis, dissolution, HPLC analysis, GC analysis, DSC, TGA, DVS, XRPD, compendial testing etc. Manage/supervise up to four direct reports Planning, assigning and guiding the work of the team Support Management by communicating directly with clients regarding new projects, on-going projects, etc. Prepare quotations for clients and develop action plans for study implementation. Prepare and/or review SOP’s, test methods, protocols etc. Prepare written test reports summarizing all analytical results derived in support of CMTI Operations or external sample submissions. Provide technical training and mentoring for colleagues. Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks in support of daily laboratory operations. Other duties as assigned The Candidate: BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with more than 8 years of pharmaceutical analytical development experience. Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred HPLC experience required Particle size analysis (strongly preferred), XRD, ESC, TGA, KF, FTIR preferred Release testing, USP/EP – monograph testing experience preferred. Method transfer, validation, stability Empower 3 a plus Previous supervisor/direct report experience preferred Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly.
