Position Summary: Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Environmental Health & Safety Specialist for the Clinical Services group. This person will be responsible for assisting in all EH&S activities for the Clinical Development and Supply division, which includes manufacturing floor, lab, and packaging. This involves developing and implementing site wide health, safety, environmental, and security programs designed to respond to potential situation and to enhance site overall business continuity and site safety. Specific programs include but are not limited to: incident prevention, minimization and/or eliminating health and safety hazards, fire system management, security system management, business continuity, crisis management, EH&S program and policy management and proactive loss prevention activities. This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM. Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The facility is the commercial manufacturing Center-of-Excellence for accelerated development programs and roller compaction. The Role Identify, assess and recommend control measures or corrective action(s) for environmental, health and safety concerns. Measure injury and illness trends and work with site personnel to recognize and mange improvement opportunities to prevent negative trends. Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments that apply to task, departments, and the overall site that includes but is not limited to: chemical use, machine safeguarding, ergonomics, walking-working surfaces, material handling, etc, to reduce the risk and prevent work related injuries and illnesses. Assist with managing worker’s compensation cases including initial reporting, securing initial employee treatment, maintaining continuous employee contact, and follow-up with the injured employee when they return to regular duty. Maintenance of safety and security equipment and supplies including but not limited to weekly/monthly inspections, calibrations and certifications where applicable Conduct EHS audits, inspections, hazard assessments and investigations of violations as required and make recommendations based off findings Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations assuring corrective actions are taken to minimize or prevent similar future incidents. Enter all incident data into Entropy corporate software. Assist with management of site medical programs including but not limited to medical surveillance as necessary, bloodborne pathogens vaccinations and incident investigation, respiratory protection clearance and annual requirements, new hire physicals and training of all site personnel on these programs.
