Learn more about the Caterpillar Experience Ground Transportation Operations Center (GTOC) – Americas We are a dynamic team of transportation experts, committed to the success of the integrated inbound value chain of the North America facilities. We manage the ground transportation of 400,000 loads per year. Working at GTOC gives the unique opportunity to connect and collaborate with different key players in the supply chain (including suppliers, purchasing teams, supply chain teams, receiving teams) and customer collaboration teams in order to design and execute innovative inbound transportation solutions, while acquiring deep knowledge of the execution of transportation. We are a team of team players and are very focused on continuous improvement and the lean transformation of our processes. We are currently hiring a Transportation Manager who will lead the GTOC-A Carrier Management team. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Supervises a team of approximately 7 transportation analysts who are responsible for different carrier groups (services) within the North America ground transportation network Support monthly and annual transportation bid events by partnering with procurement partners, supply chain, and operations teams. Also consolidating and control the quality of master data and volume Relationship management / regular meetings / performance improvement initiatives with all North America Ground providers Responsible for key lane proactive management and solutioning, carrier capacity monitoring and identifying need for supplemental bids, carrier RCCA (root cause corrective action) management Responsible for significant OPACC reduction goal in collaboration with supply chain teams Lead and/or support customer governance meetings to report on GTOC performance (OPACC and velocity) Collaborate with peers to achieve demanding team goals Collaborate with colleagues in Integrated Logistics to support the continuous improvement of the extended supply chain Based on knowledge of transportation operations processes and systems, customer needs and insights based on analytics. Responsible for supporting the team in developing, implementing and monitoring agile network solutions Team development on supply chain and transportation skillset and knowledge Collaboration with cross-functional team to drive improvements in planned cost accuracy in our Transportation Management System (TMS) Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree 5 years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Packaging Top Candidates will also have: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Previous project management experience with high impact initiatives Previous experience with leading teams Ability to plan and optimize most effective methods for transportation Lean experience Additional Information: This position does offer relocation.
