Insight Global is Hiring a Sr Procurement Specialist Near San Diego, CA

The Sr Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing assigned commodities within the Indirect Purchasing Department. Their key responsibilities include:
1. Purchase Order Placement and Issue Resolution: Handling purchase orders and resolving any related issues.
2. Contract Preparation: Preparing contracts for products and services.
3. Negotiation: Acting as the lead negotiator to find solutions for a wide range of issues.
4. Commercial Strategies: Developing commercial strategies for product and service contracts.
5. Supplier Relationship Management: Managing relationships with suppliers and monitoring performance metrics.
6. Risk Mitigation: Identifying and mitigating risks that could impact the organizations ability to meet its business plan.
Nature and Scope:
While managing relationships with non-strategic suppliers, they primarily oversee strategic or complex suppliers.
They actively participate in and lead projects that align with organizational objectives.
Primary Functions:
Supply Chain Management:
Apply advanced Supply Chain knowledge to manage processes, establish policies, and develop value-adding strategies.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients and lower-level supplier executives.
Monitor and manage risk ownership from financial, business continuation, and compliance perspectives.
Ensure procurement processes meet audit, regulatory, and legal standards.
Lead teams, provide direction, and coach less experienced staff members.
Contract Management:
Lead agreements on complex, high-value contracts and resolve issues.
Develop and implement solutions to improve contract compliance.
Proactively identify issues during and after contract execution.

Required Skills & Experience
-Master's degree with 5-7 years purchasing experience, or Bachelor's degree with 7-9 years purchasing experience, or in lieu of a degree 10 years purchasing experience in the construction/ facilities/ maintenance space.
-Advanced personal computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office)
-Experience in managing complex and long-term contractual agreements
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-COUPA Procure to Pay (P2P) system knowledge
-Experience in the development of long-term supplier relationships
-Experience interpreting and negotiating contractual cost elements
-Work independently on complex assignments; anticipate problems and provide solutions in a professional, logical and expedited manner
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
