Job Purpose: As an Electrical Product Engineer, the incumbent will direct and participate in the design and development of new product concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Executing and supporting the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sources. • Interacting with internal and external customers to meet project milestones and budgets. • Providing direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controls. • Creating bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system. • Creating PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear. • Executing multiple projects simultaneously. • Traveling to support startup and commissioning activities, typically 10-20%. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree – Electrical Engineering or other Engineering related degree. • 5-10 years job related experience. • Allen Bradley and/or Schneider PLC programming experience. • Knowledge of system operations and PLC based controls. • Incumbent will have a detailed understanding of NEC, UL, ANSI and other standards. • Incumbent will be familiar with Caterpillar and other types gensets including controls and limitations. • Incumbent will have an understanding power generation and switchgear systems. Top Candidate Will Also Have: • Experience with generators and generator control systems. • Experience developing control software utilizing multiple PLC platforms and controllers. • Familiarity with the applicable NEC, UL, CSA, and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controls. • Understanding of protective relays and their functions associated with Generator and Utility protection applications. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Attention to detail. • Computer proficient including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
