Job Description:

CaseGlide is a growing fast-paced software company providing a Software-as-a-Service application that enables secure business-to-business exchange of data and documents for insurance carriers, including delivery, storage, workflow, and reporting. CaseGlide is looking for a motivated Director of Engineering to lead its growing Engineering Team. You will need to have the passion, drive, and background necessary to be the leader of CaseGlide’s SaaS application engineering team. 

Minimum Requirements

You have five years of experience in a leadership role in which you have been directly responsible for regularly shipping a SaaS application. Experience should include successfully managing a growing engineering department, cultivating a new mindset, and rebuilding components and subsystems.

You have an additional five years of hands-on technical experience in object-oriented programming leveraging open-source components, application frameworks, and libraries.

You have full-stack experience with designing solutions to complex engineering challenges in a secure environment with encrypted data assets. A typical experience profile will include programming, databases, web services, storage, integrations, and enterprise security compliance.

You have experience with effectively using DevOps toolsets to enable short release cycles, low-risk releases, and faster time to market.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for shipping a complex Microsoft-based SaaS application stack operating in AWS. You will be a transformational technical and organizational leader on the CaseGlide leadership team, and for a small team of engineers and testers. You will guide your team by prioritizing feature development, guiding research and development, instituting best practices, fostering learning opportunities, and challenging team members to strive for excellence.

You will work with CaseGlide’s executive leadership team to prioritize market-driven product enhancements and customer requests, set release schedules and cadence, and manage a long-term product roadmap. You will establish a high-performing engineering department, break down monolithic components, rotate in new technologies, and leverage technical investments to achieve greater application scalability and reliability. You will be a champion for the DevOps way of thinking.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have a quantitative mindset and you use empirical data to support decisions.
  • You have a 4-year technical degree and with transcripts from an accredited university.
  • You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and can pass a detailed background check.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage the entire development lifecycle of the Workplace solution
  • Guiding, motivating, and developing the team to achieve successful outcomes and maintain accountability for business objectives.
  • Oversee, create, and implement software products and applications in an SasS model
  • Research and implement new technologies to lead product innovation
  • Plan, direct. and coordinate the actions of the development team
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the organization
  • Act as a liaison between the software development department and senior leadership
  • Design, develop, validate, deploy and maintain various applications and interfaces using current company processes, style guidelines, and technology.
  • Review change requests and support cases to remain familiar with key customer concerns and high impact support issues
  • Schedule resources and plan out sprints and releases. Work with the product manager and marketing team to define product roadmap and release schedule.
  • Facilitate and ensure internal and end-user help documentation are ready, thorough, and complete in conjunction with a release or project.
  • Coordinate with the DEV/OPS team on infrastructure and application security needs for Soc2 audits
  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
  • Assist our Solution Architects in the development of proposals and statements of work that the engineering team will execute

What You Need for this Position

  • 7 yrs of a Lead Software Development Experience in the .NET environment
  • 5 years hands-on technical experience in object-oriented programming and solid principles
  • 3 yrs of Management/Leadership experience with small teams of developers (Experience Hiring, Mentoring and training JR Devs)
  • Passion for leading/mentoring members of the team
  • 5 yrs of C# / MVC and .net Experience
  • 1 yrs of Amazon AWS Experience - RDS SQL, Redis or MemCache
  • Strong Knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Information Science/Computer Science/Engineering
  • At least 5 years of hands on Management experience with small or medium developer teams
  • Experience with Microservices and containerization
  • SaaS Multi-Tenant web application experience-
  • Expertise in architecting and implementing enterprise-wide solutions using AWS Cloud based technologies.
