Who You Are
As an Energy Auditor at CAC, you play a crucial role in residential energy savings upgrades for low and moderate-income clients. Your responsibilities include conducting energy assessments, , constructing work orders for subcontractors, and performing quality control inspections to ensure compliance with program requirements. Join us in making a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need.
What You'll Do
On-site Appointments: Utilize your own vehicle to travel to different sites in the state, conducting energy assessments of residential properties. Perform quality control inspections of completed work, ensuring adherence to program requirements. (Mileage reimbursement is available)
Energy Modeling and Work Orders: Analyst diagnostic tool results and use the Hancock Energy Audit Tool to model energy use of properties and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of proposed work. Construct work orders for subcontractors, detailing the scope of work required for energy savings upgrades.
Compliance Knowledge : Understand and adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures from funding agencies and service providers.
Certification Pursuit: Attend and successfully complete educational programs to achieve necessary certifications relevant to the position.
Other Duties : Contribute to the success of the team by undertaking additional duties as assigned.
What you Bring
Education : High School Diploma or GED.
Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle for work-related duties. (Mileage reimbursement available)
Work Environment : Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments, including all weather conditions
Certification: Able to obtain the BPI Energy Auditor certification within 90-days of hire.
Analytical Skills: Capable of obtaining and analyzing statistical data, and evaluating and interpreting meaningful results.
Documentation : Proficient in preparing required records and reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
Preferred
Required Experience : Residential construction experience and diagnostic instrumental knowledge.
Required Audit Experience: One- year previous auditing experience. Preferred auditing experience for energy efficiency or weatherization services.
Preferred Client Service Experience: Delivering services to for low-income families with other Community Action Agencies or DHCD weatherization contractors.
Required Computer Skills: Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
