Carolinas Center for Surgery is Hiring a Medical Coder Near Morehead City, NC
Carolinas Center for Surgery is looking for a qualified, motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Coder. The applicant must be well versed in all aspects of physician CPT and ICD-10 coding. CPC certification is preferred but not required.
Job Duties:
- Timely and accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient surgeries, hospital E&M, and other services as needed.
- Monitor CMS and all other payers for changes affecting areas within our specialties
- Reconcile OR Schedules
- Assist staff and physicians with coding questions
- Train staff and physicians on any coding changes that pertain to them
Requirements:
- At least two years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting utilizing ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers.
- Understanding of anatomy, medical terminology and billing practices
- CPC certification and knowledge of Athena EHR is a plus!
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team player
