Carnegie Hall is Hiring a Marketing Associate Near New York, NY

Position Scope: Carnegie Hall’s Marketing Associate is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for growing program awareness, deepening audience engagement, and recruiting participants for Weill Music Institute (WMI) initiatives, including artist training programs and/or content areas that serve educators and students, families and early childhood, and a wide scope of partner organizations that reach local, national, and global participants and audiences across all ages. The Associate is a highly collaborative role working across the Marketing and Education (WMI) departments and liaising between WMI program teams, Marketing, Creative Services, and Digital Media teams. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Associate is part of a marketing team that develops and executes marketing strategy for Carnegie Hall initiatives across all platforms. The Associate will develop integrated marketing plans, using data to inform goals and objectives, and promote both in-person activities as well as online content. Project management skills are an important component for success. The Associate is also a creative thought partner to colleagues across areas. Responsibilities: Work closely with Marketing and WMI program teams in support of recruitment, content marketing, and audience development efforts. This includes recruitment for National Youth Orchestra Ensembles, K-12 programs such as Musical Explorers, Link Up, Music Educators Workshop (and Summer), partnership programs (NeON Arts), early childhood initiatives (Lullaby Project and Sing with Carnegie Hall), and target audience segments (families, educators, and young musicians). This includes content marketing for podcasts, videos, and other content areas as they arise. Identify high-level tactics and opportunities to build awareness of programs and initiatives, including in-person programs and online content. Create, share, and maintain marketing and recruitment planning schedule and objectives for various WMI programs, including goalsetting, tactics for measurement, and analyzing overall effectiveness and ROI. Actively participate in content development and planning with WMI and Digital Media, identifying opportunities to maximize audience reach and engagement. Develop, implement, and execute integrated marketing and recruitment campaigns and plans, including but not limited to programs designed for educators and students, family and early childhood, workshops and master classes, partner programs, and other areas as assigned. Specifically: Write, route, and determine segmentation strategy around promotional and recruitment emails. Work closely with WMI program teams to review and update web copy as necessary, and regularly monitor web analytics to recommend improvements based on metrics and UX testing/studies. Draft social media copy, email copy, and campaign plans, including targeting briefs and budget allocation. Organize and run cross-departmental meetings and brainstorm sessions as required. Conceptualize and project manage key communication tool development utilizing digital product management playbook, including annual brochure, marketing collateral, and website landing pages. Support Digital Media and WMI program teams in iterating and improving programmatic web experiences. Plan and track marketing spend, conversions and recruitment numbers, presenting reports as requested. Ensure consistency and integration across WMI campaigns and messages within the ecosystem of platforms. Work with programming teams to exhibit in and advertise through industry conferences for awareness building and recruitment. Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to promote WMI public events. Qualifications: Minimum of three years professional experience, preferably in arts education (K – 12) or arts marketing. Broad understanding of and interest in arts education. Prior success creating and executing marketing strategies to build awareness, increase impressions and reach, and recruit participants across a range of target segments. Ability to develop comprehensive, thoughtful marketing plans and strategies. Culturally responsive, superior communication and interpersonal skills. Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills for all platforms, particularly digital and direct response. Impeccable attention to detail and organizational capacity. Excellent time management along with ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, project managing and prioritizing requests. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn additional software programs. Knowledge of Tessitura preferred. Passion and knowledge for music and the arts, as well as commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, a major plus. Culturally sensitive communication skills, desire to learn and adapt. Commitment to Carnegie Hall’s mission. Some evening and weekend coverage required.
