Description

Manufacturing Associate II position is a position that can be assigned to any of the roles of the below listed jobs at the manufacturing plant. The primary function of this position is for the employee to rotate between different jobs as business needs dictates- Mill Operator, Bead Former Operator, and Press Operator

Required training will be given before being placed in a role.

Summary of Responsibility for each relief role:

Mill Operator

  • The major function of this position is to operate mills and feed rubber into the mill machine from scrap, breakdown, feed, and gum cushion. When finished, will go on the conveyor belt.
  • Responsible for cleaning equipment as assigned.
  • Assist in the removal of in-process materials from Mills, Extruders, or Calenders as required.
  • Responsible for helping out at the Mixers, Extruders, Calenders, and Bias Cutters when required.
  • Keep Mixer Chemical Hoppers full.
  • Keep Chemicals Mezzanine clean and orderly.
  • Use care in working with Chemicals.
  • Operate all Equipment including Fork Trucks; in a safe manner and use Safety Devices as required.
  • Exerting from 35 lbs. to 49 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Bead Former Operator

  • The primary function of this position is to use a Bead Former Machine to make beads according to specification and tolerance.
  • Check computer for production schedule and requirements for run(s)
  • Set-up the machine according to specifications.
  • Will use a hoist and put spools on a reel.
  • Hook up the wire needed for the run and push button to start.
  • Machine will make beads according to size and specifications.
  • When the wire and beads are finished, will fall on a three spoked holder.
  • Will put on racks and tag according to size.
  • Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of the machine.
  • Will move racks of beads.
  • Will also use forklift to move product.
  • Exerting in excess of 70 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. Of force frequently and/or in excess of 30 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Press Operator

  • This position is responsible for the set up and adjusting of machine tools and other production machines.
  • Run Presses
  • Remove Tires
  • Exerting in excess of 00 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 00 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 00 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Qualifications


Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing/distribution operation preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting production and quality goals
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required

Ergonomic & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet the Ergonomic as well as the Physical Base Score for this position.
  • Stand 70 % and Walk 30 % of a normal day.
  • Lift/Carry 20 lbs. to 100 lbs.
  • Lift bulky objects
  • Push/pull 50 lbs. to 150 lbs. On wheeled carts. Static push/pull 20 lbs.
  • Pinch minimum 6 lbs.
  • Grasp minimum 35 lbs.
  • Full range of motion required: Cervical, Shoulders, Elbow, Wrist, Fingers, Hands, Truck Twist, and Feet.
  • Working Conditions: Moderate Noise, Moving Mechanical Parts, Static Shock, Burns, Go up Heights, Odors, Dust, Protrusions, Narrow Access, good Vision and Hearing.
  • Any lifting over 70 lbs. must be completed with assistance i.e. mechanical or individual.
