Caris Science, Inc. is Hiring a Remote Senior Network Engineer
Job Responsibilities Assist in continuous process improvements, automation strategy, tools development and delivery of complex solutions. Installs, configures, and upgrades networking infrastructure including but not limited to wireless components, switches, routers, and network security infrastructure. Assist in building and maintaining architectural runbooks, hardware, and software refresh lifecycle, and maintenance and support contracts. Supports the successful implementation and system maintenance related to defined standards, including participation in applying approved patches. Support and monitor IT network systems to detect, evaluate and address networking security & vulnerability management. Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and changes to network configurations and associated processes following change management procedures. Assists in managing and modifying firewall rule sets, troubleshooting, analyzing network traffic flows and network segmentation. Assist in the selection of appropriate design, product models, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements. Assist in the network configurations for on-prem and cloud hosted environments. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks and routine maintenance tasks such as version upgrades, configuration, operational tuning, and vendor patching for all network equipment. Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization. Assist in configuration and design of Network Access Control devices including ISE and VPN policies Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of network engineering experience. An in-depth understanding of current and emerging networking technologies is required. Experience configuring cloud/hybrid infrastructures. Experience implementing HIPAA, PCI and PII regulated best practices. Hands on experience with network segmentation, endpoint security and firewalls, specifically Palo Alto, ISE and access controls. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Service Now preferred or similar ticketing system. Experience working in a healthcare organization. Cisco CCNA, CCNP and Palo PCNSA certified professional. Experience working in Agile Framework. Physical Demands Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time. May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment. Occasional lifting of items up to 35 lbs. is required when installing some IT equipment. Training All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.
