System Administrator II
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Schedule: Full Time
Salary Range: $74K-$84K
OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a System Administrator II to be a vital member of the Position, Navigation, and Timing team and maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Active Secret Clearance
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience
- OR 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with network administrators.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
- Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
- Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Set up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintain system documentation.
- Tune system performance.
- Install system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
- Provide support for hardware and software issues, data recovery, system upgrades, software upgrades, configuration issues, system installation and relocation.
- Work with the Cyber Security team performing STIG checks, addressing deficiencies, remediating findings and hardening systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience administering and configuring Windows Server
- Experience with Red Hat Linux
- Experience in Virtualization technology (VMWare)
- Security or equivalent certification
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with DoD STIGs
- Experience configuring/maintaining Networking Hardware (Switch, Router, Firewall)
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Experience utilizing cybersecurity software applications
- Experience working with vendors to expedite installations and repairs to ensure maximum uptime
- Familiar with Agile, SAFe, DevSecOps concepts
- In-depth experience in Operations and Maintenance activities of IT infrastructure
