Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on equipment, machines, plc controllers and facilities to ensure the production operation is continuous and efficient. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms tasks as instructed and works shifts as assigned by management. Performs various maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to diagnosis and repair of electrical problems, diagnosis and repair of machines and equipment, building repairs, general maintenance, preventative maintenance, plumbing repairs and other tasks as needed. Utilizes mechanical skills and knowledge of electricity, pneumatics, PLCs, welding, cutting, and equipment operation to make repairs to facilitate the production operation and maintain the facility.Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures on PLC controllers. Performs repairs and programming adjustment. Responsible for communication with Maintenance Staff and Production Management to ensure efficient Responsible for working with contractors and vendors to facilitate repair of equipment and installation of new equipment. Performs preventive maintenance tasks and inspections, as required, based on manufacturer’s specificationsMaintains all records related to repairs, inspections and/or preventative maintenance tasks Communicate with vendors and suppliers as needed to ensure parts meet required specifications. Participates in training programs, as needed, to upgrade or maintain skills.Performs all work to meet local, state and federal codes.following all procedures and policies related to food safety.Responsible for attending and participating in assigned training sessions related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; applying and demonstrating obtained knowledge and work area safe and clean.Responsible for keeping guidelines for job performed Adheres to all safety Performs related duties as assigned by managementPHYSICAL DEMANDSOccasionally required to lift and pull up to 100 poundsOccasionally required to carry items up to 100 poundsRequired to work while standing for periods up to 2 hoursRegularly required to bend, reach, pull, stoop, kneel, climb and reachRequired to work in hot and cold environmentsPerform medium to heavy duty work tasks QUALIFICATIONS 5-7 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentCertification of completion of industrial maintenance program at an accredited institutionAbility to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic problems on high speed industrial equipment used in the food processing industry.Ability to use various hand tools- powered and non-powered, precision measuring tools, forklift and other tools and equipment to perform industrial maintenance tasks.Ability to perform various maintenance tasks- carpentry, plumbing, welding and cutting and operate appropriate tools to perform such tasks.Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook proficiently Ability to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manualsAbility to communicate, write legibly, and speak in EnglishAbility to perform each essential function satisfactory. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTSafety eyewear and hearing protection is requiredProtective clothing, hair net and gloves are required. Respirator, hard hat, welding helmet and other PPE may be required based on tasks being performed
