Schwarz Partners, L.P. is currently seeking Production Supervisors in the Charlotte, NC area to support one of our multiple Paper & Packaging manufacturing facilities! As a Production Supervisor, you will plan, organize, and control production for the facility to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Production Supervisors are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and policy procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Plan, implement, and control the production schedule for the products to be run. Review and adjust the schedule where needed. Determine the human and material resources required. Determine the material resources required to support the schedule. Manage human and material resources to meet production targets. Make decisions about equipment use and maintenance. Create and implement standard operating procedures for production operators Train team to ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to. Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures. Set and ensure product meets established product quality standards through continuous monitoring. Monitor quality of products. Enforce quality control standards and tracking programs to meet quality objectives. Analyze production and quality control data to detect and correct problems. Determine and implement improvements to the production process. Prepare and maintain production reports. Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement. Manage production budgets. Implement cost control programs. Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management. Cover for other key personnel in the event of an absence. This position will cover for the Production Manager in the event of the Production Manager’s absence. SAFETY: Compliance with all facility rules and regulations. Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to management. Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities. Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)/properly and reporting any defective PPE. Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: An associate’s degree – (business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology) or prior experience. At least 2 – 3 years of Supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques. Knowledge of raw materials. Knowledge of quality control programs. Knowledge of business, finance and management principles. Knowledge of human resource principles and practices. Knowledge of machines and tools. Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices. Solid computer skills. PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of paper packaging a plus, but not required. Printing press experience a plus, but not required. Corrugated experience a plus, not required. KEY COMPETENCIES: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Planning and organizing.
