The Royal Group, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to support our Cicero, IL facility. As a Production Scheduler you will schedule machine operations, oversee and coordinate all production activity with sales, sales service, and shipping to ensure that orders are being handled properly. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Conduct scheduling meetings with various staff members to explain shipping deadlines, existing and/or new orders, and any outstanding issues or problems.Review completed work orders from previous shifts to determine which are still open.Expedite parts from the different work centers which are behind schedule or which have new delivery dates.Review completed work orders from previous shifts to determine which are open.Expedite parts from the different work centers which are behind schedule or which have new delivery dates.Review sales reports and orders to determine the necessary production schedule.Prioritize work for each work center.Oversee the creation of work orders for the production floor.Analyze customer sales reports to ensure raw materials on hand to produce on time delivery.Participate in annual physical inventory.Act as back up for Production Planner as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE: 3 - 4 years of experience in the field or related area.High school diploma or GED.Previous experience in a corrugated scheduling department and/or box plant operation. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: Computer literate and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports, technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes. Ability to write business reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside company officials. Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to production scheduling as well as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and measurements furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
