The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager will collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to achieve success and project delivery. The SRE team applies software engineering techniques and principles to production operations to build and run highly scalable systems and services. You will be responsible for building this new team from the ground up. In this role you will be managing a team of SREs to guide them in developing consumable services that maximize availability, while achieving performance, and stability goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with internal stakeholders to build accurate and consumable systems and services
Consult with internal customers to understand needs and requirements
Drive innovation to improve availability, capacity, performance, and resilience of new and existing systems
Emphasize software engineering best practices, iterative progress, delivering value, and data driven decision making
Continuously improve systems to increase efficiencies and maximize capabilities
Responsible for making key decisions to ensure successful implementation of initiatives
Develop/implement centralized logging strategy, containing strategy, and the observability strategy
Develop, coach, hire and mentor engineers on the team
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of hardware and software
Promote SRE and DevOps principles

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a similar discipline
In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with four or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
5 years of experience working as a Site Reliability Engineer/DevOps or a similar role operating a highly scalable and distributed platform
2 years of experience managing projects and people
2 years of experience working in an Agile environment
Lead projects that span across multiple functional organizational groups
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Experience managing technology expenses associated with area of responsibility
