Job Summary:

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Floor Covering Installation Instructor to be located on the Whitfield Murray County Campus and may be required to travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the administration and instruction efforts of the floor covering installation training programs for Academic Affairs. In addition, the applicant is expected to prepare materials needed for course instruction and facilitate a focused and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and increased skill performance.

Competencies:

• The applicant must possess flooring installation knowledge and experience to teach program-specific content in-person and online using an established curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED, *AND*

• Minimum of three (3) years of floor covering installation experience

• Minimum of Journeyman level certification

• Remains current in the field

Preferred Qualifications:

Master Certification in Floor Covering Installation

Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed in a classroom/lab or office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects to a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.

If the job involves driving, physical requirements include the ability to operate a vehicle and sit for extended periods.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 based on qualifying degree and work This is a full-time twelve-month position and is eligible for the State of Georgia Benefit package.

Benefits:

If this is a part-time position, no benefits are available. If this is a full-time position, benefits include: 13 paid State holidays, annual and sick leave, paid parental leave, a State of Georgia benefits package that includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life, etc. A choice of two retirement systems: Teachers Retirement System of Georgia or the Employee’s Retirement System of Georgia based upon position and 401K options.
