Overview: The Identity Verification group within the Cyber and Intelligence Solutions (C&I) division works to prevent fraud by securing a user’s identity through their devices, identity information, and usage patterns such as passive Biometrics. Comprised of best-in-class solutions from Ekata and NuData Security (Mastercard companies), we use complex machine learning, a client customizable rule engine, combined with device, identity, and transaction information from billions of transactions to reduce user friction to enable highly secure real time transactions. The Identity Verification group is looking for a Sr Software Engineer to help build and innovate world class web application products written in Ruby and React. Our ideal candidate would have the skills and desire to understand our entire stack, from Postgres to Redis to Rails, and the passion to champion new and exciting technologies to solve Ekata's unique and challenging problems. Role & Responsibilities: • Work as part of a development Scrum team in an Agile environment that can be geographically diverse • Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of Fullstack web applications (Ruby and React) • Define requirements for new applications and customization adhering to Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices • Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate to Mastercard’s specifications • Help mentor and guide other team members during all phases of the SDLC. Ensure adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing and Performance Testing. All About You: • Demonstrated software development experience in a professional development team setting. • Possess strong communication skills -- both verbal and written – and strong • relationship, collaborative and organizational skills. • Ruby experience, or experience with at least one object-oriented language (C#, C , Python, etc.) and ideally some prior exposure with Ruby or other relevant languages • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and source control systems; • Experience working with cloud-based server environments; (Azure / AWS ideally) • Willingness and ability to learn / take on challenging opportunities Helpful to have: • Experience with Ruby, React, JavaScript, JSON, HTTP, RESTful services • Experience writing automated acceptance tests (used in CI/CD pipelines) • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Cassandra, Redis or Other) • Experience working in a CI/CD environment. (Jenkins a plus) • Experience with JIRA and Agile • Experience with Fullstack web applications and RESTful APIs • An interest in fraud detection and security. Education / Experience: • Experience in delivering secure solutions in Financial / Fraud Services Sector is preferred. Broad understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required. Demonstrate MC Core Competencies. • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
