The Demand Planner will implement and maintain forecasts within our demand forecasting system utilizing inventory, sales, promotional and seasonal trends to support retail and e-commerce inventory needs. This role is responsible to maintain and improve forecast accuracy to minimize out-of-stock events while maintaining adequate supply chain flow and improving inventory turns. Successful candidates will be data-driven individuals and have strong problem-solving skills. You will work closely with merchandising, inventory, supply chain, e-commerce, and store operations in addition to our vendor partners.

Essential Functions:

• Manage demand forecasts based on seasonal sales trends and patterns to support inventory needs.
• Create item-level demand forecasts using; historical data, statistical forecasts, new item history (like items, cloned items) seasonal and promotional demands, etc.
• Work with import team to develop optimal inventory flow and forecasting on long lead time product.
• Partner with inventory team to optimize replenishment parameters for e-commerce and retail locations to ensure adequate in-stocks.
• Make forecast adjustments based on seasonal products, promotional sales, and discounts
• Maintain demand planning systems to improve forecast accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and complete root cause analysis for demand forecasting needs and provide resolutions.
• Reports to the Inventory Manager

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Business, Finance or Retail Merchandising; 2-3 years of applicable work experience in a retail setting or an internship in a similar retail business setting
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other PC applications
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Assertive with strong initiative and willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment
• Demonstrated organizing and prioritizing skills, attention to detail, and initiative in completing tasks in a timely and reliable manner.
• Strong communication skills to support teamwork, as well as contact with stores, vendors, and merchants.
• Experience using Oracle RDF or other Demand Forecasting systems.
