SUMMARY: We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources professional to join our growing Human Resources team at Camfil USA!
In this new role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources - Americas. The Benefits Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and administration of the Camfil USA’s employee benefits program. This includes managing benefit plans, communicating with employees, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will also be the HR central point of contact for the Corporate and Sales (Branch) organizations and as it relates to benefits administration, workers compensation administration, and leaves of absence administration.You will oversee and be a solid resource for the other manufacturing facilities located throughout the U.S. for these same areas, filling in during absences or volume peaks.
The Benefits Supervisor builds partnerships with all levels of team members across the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned:
- Ability to be the subject matter expert and act as the first point of contact for assigned client groups on benefits, workers compensation, and leaves administration, partnering with other HR representatives at multiple locations across the U.S.
- Responsible for administering and supporting all areas of the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, health savings plan, and 401(k)). Coordinate and administer open enrollment processes for all employees; administer COBRA continuation benefits for all non-active former employees when applicable.
- Collaborate and work closely with broker and providers, continuing sound working relationships; and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of benefits programs and services.
- Assists and administers in benefit system preparation of the benefit plan renewal process.
- Manage the benefits and workers comp budgets, providing regular reporting and analysis on costs and trends.
- Participate in benefits surveys and benchmarking studies to ensure the company’s offerings remain competitive.
- Develop and implement benefit policies and procedures, work instructions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and the company’s internal policies.
- Assist with timeliness and accuracy of required filings and notices, to include: ACA, Medicare, 5500, etc.
- Auditing of various benefits, WC, HR, and insurance systems for congruency.
- Processing of monthly billing and preparation for payment for all group benefit plans.
- Provide analytical and technical support in the administration process of the benefit and workers comp programs.
- Provides special guidance and assistance, or administers, to the Human Resource team at all locations on various employee benefit plans
- Maintain/update benefits procedures documents.
- Daily/weekly/bi-weekly maintenance of benefits and payroll systems (qualifying event tracking, open enrollment, and new hire enrollment).
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices as it relates to benefits, workers compensation, and leaves administration.
- Lead the reporting and record keeping of workers compensation claims to applicable insurance carriers for assigned client groups. Ensure proper case management and communications between impacted employee and staff.
- Processing and recording of leave (FMLA, ADA, STD) requests.
- Process surveys and reports in addition to those requested by EEO and other required reports for government agencies, legal, sales, and a variety of departments.
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquires or requests and provide assistance.
- Conduct benefits orientation sessions and provide ongoing education to employees on benefit programs and services.
- Provide excellent customer service to the employees, leadership, and Human Resource team in the field.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts for the HR function.
- Align closely with the VP of HR on benefits design and administration, as well as workers compensation.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish), preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration.
- Knowledge of principles and practices in benefits, workers compensation, and human resources.
- Proficiency using benefits, workers comp, and other HRIS databases; ADP experience preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, WC, and federal and state employment regulations, preferred.
- Ability to analyze and define problems, prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines and remain flexible.
- Ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
- Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software and applications; experience with ADP payroll software a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas.
